Starting life as E.M. Laird Aviation Co. Ltd. the Swallow Airplane Mfg Co. designed and built light aircraft from 1923 to 1927. With re-financing the doors opened again in 1933. Swallow were notable for producing the Swallow TP in quite large numbers for its day. A large proportion of pilots trained in the late twenties and early thirties cut their teeth on the TP. The company remained in business with an aircraft mechanics school and aircraft parts sub-contracting till 1956.
