Krosno 1358 is a town and county in Subcarpathian Voivodeship Poland with 47 455 inhabitants as of 2 June 2009. Notably Krosno is the site of the first oil well (or mine) in the world. Krosno is a medieval fortified town a former Royal Free Town a centre of cloth linen canvas baize and Hungarian wine trade. Until recently it was a provincial capital.
