The VL Pyörremyrsky (Hurricane) was a Finnish fighter designed by DI Torsti Verkkola at the State Aircraft Factory for service with the Finnish Air Force in World War II. The war ended before the type's first flight and only a single prototype was built.

werden konnten, ging die VL Pyörremyrsky nicht mehr in die Serienproduktion. Von der VL Pyörremyrsky wurde nur der hier im Zentralfinnischen Luftfahrtmuseum stehende Prototyp gebaut.2
Die VL Pyörremyrsky war ein vom staatlichen finnischen Flugzeugbauunternehmen Valtion lentokonetehdas gebautes Jagdflugzeug für die finnischen Luftstreitkräfte im Zweiten Weltkrieg. Das Flugzeug wurde wegen des Mangels an Leichtmetall weitestgehend aus Holz gebaut.3

VL Pyörremyrsky oli DI Torsti Verkkolan suunnittelema ja Valtion Lentokonetehtaan rakentama toisen maailmansodan aikainen suomalainen hävittäjälentokone. Sen mahdollisimman moni rakenneosa oli tehty puusta, jonka saatavuus oli sodan aikana Suomessa hyvä, toisin kuin monen muun materiaalin.4
Kone, joka sai nimekseen VL Pyörremyrsky toteutettiin PM-1 -vaihtoehdon pohjalta, joskin spesifikaatiota muutettiin kehitystyön edetessä. VL Pyörremyrsky siirrettiin täytetyöksi maaliskuussa 1944. Prototyyppi lensi ensilentonsa 21.11.1945.5
