The Miles M.57 Aerovan was a British twin engine short-range low-cost transport designed and built by Miles Aircraft. It was used for freight joy-riding and passenger services. It also was used by many commercial operators and for some military purposes.

Miles Aerovan is the predecessor of the Miles M.68.

The Miles Aerovan twin prop short haul freighter was first flown on January 26th 1945.5
The Short Skyvan was developed from the original Miles Aerovan of the 1940s and '50s, but with a new (Hurel-Dubois designed) wing, turboprop engines, and a new, box-like fuselage, there is nothing left in common 6
The Miles Aerovan, of which Israel has used several, is believed to be the basis for this design. The resemblance is pretty obvious.7
