The IAR-46 is a very light two-seater airplane for flight school training and tourism. Construction is conventional riveted joints. Seats are arranged side by side the left seat as the main low trepezoidal wing empennage in T semi-retractable landing gear (mechanic) with skid wheel connected with the rudder. The aircraft was certificated under JAR-VLA regulations by the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority in November 1999.
