Hawker Horsley

The Hawker Horsley was a British single-engined biplane bomber of the 1920s. It was the last all wooden aircraft built by Hawker Aircraft and served as a medium day bomber and torpedo bomber with Britain's Royal Air Force between 1926 and 1935 also serving with the Navies of Greece and Denmark.

Both the Hawker Horsley and Fairey Battle were also used as flight test aircraft during the course of development.1
The Hawker Horsley was used by Hellenic Navy Air Force as bomber.2
On October 30, 1931, a two-seater Hawker Horsley took off for a training flight with New Zealanders Flying Officer Jack Markby and FO Lewis McHardy of 504 Squadron on board.3

The Hawker Horsley was the last wooden aircraft to be constructed by Hawker. It was designed initially in 1923 but modified in 1925 to meet the need for torpedoes.6
Hawker Horsley aircraft on complement and in November 1930 moved to Donibristle, Fife, converting to the torpedo bomber role. Its revised official designation as 'No.7
