The Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 aircraft project is a Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) proposal for an indigenous replacement for Indian Air Force's retired HPT-32 Deepak as basic trainer. The aircraft proposal was announced Aero India Bangalore February 2009 and shown as a model at Aero India February 2011.

HAL will also develop the HAL HTT-40 which will replace HAL HPT-32 Deepak as basic trainer.1
