Fairchild AC-119

The Fairchild AC-119G Shadow and AC-119K Stinger were twin-engine piston-powered gunships developed by the United States during the Vietnam War. They replaced the AC-47 Spooky and operated alongside the early versions of the AC-130 Spectre gunship.

AC-47, Fairchild AC-119 and Lockheed AC-130 were used very effectively in the interdiction and ground attack roles, particularly at night. Also used were the aging A-1E, T-28, and LTV A-7.3
