The Bristol Bombay was a British medium bomber and troop transport aircraft flown by the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the Second World War.

A Bristol Bombay transport of 271 Squadron bringing reinforcements and spares for 501 Squadron stalled on approach to the airfield and crashed killing four and injuring 12.1
On the 7 th August 1942 a Bristol Bombay of 216 Squadron was shot down and General Gott, Commander of the British 8th Army was killed.2
