A.V. Roe's Type 621 Tutor was a two-seat British radial-engined biplane from the interwar period. It was a simple but rugged initial trainer that was used by the Royal Air Force as well as many other air arms worldwide.

In 1933 the Avro 504N was replaced by the Avro Tutor for RAF service.5
The Avro Tutor entered RAF service in 1930 as the Avro 621 Trainer with an uncowled Mongoose engine.6

Avro Tutor is the predecessor of the Avro 626.PWS-18.

once the Avro Tutor was used to instruct pilots progressing to Bristol Bulldogs in the thirties, the new Grob Tutor is replacing Scottish Aviation Bulldogs, at Cranwell, near Sleaford.9
Tomtits were withdrawn in favour of the Avro Tutor, the Tomtits were then used as communications aircraft.10
