The Antonov An-2 Colt biplane was developed to replace the Polikarpov
Po-2 in the utility and agricultural roles.13
The Antonov An-2 had it's first flight back in 1947. It is the largest
single-engine biplane ever built.14
The Antonov An-2 is a single-engine multi-purpose biplane aircraft
developed by the Soviet design bureau OKB Antonov (today Antonov ASTC,
Ukraine).15
